Beginning in 1948, Gene Miller founded a company that would become a fully equipped, full-service underground construction company that is on target and on time while performing the work accurately, safely and efficiently. Kris Young, our current president and CEO, is the second generation of family management. Not only is Kris firmly committed to excellence at Miller the Driller but within the industry itself. Kris has served in various capacities in a number of professional organizations:

Brandon Young, our third generation of family involvement in the company, serves as Vice President of Operations for Miller The Driller. The tradition of industry involvement is already a priority for Brandon as he is currently a regional vice president for the National Utility Contractor Association. A close working relationship with our employees results in minimal turnover among key people within our company. Our employees have an average of 15 years experience with Miller The Driller. Our field supervisors have worked in every capacity within the company to give each supervisor a complete working knowledge of the trenchless methods that Miller The Driller provides. All of our employees, especially our drill operators, go through extensive training in safety; operating procedures and steering control. Our staff is always available for immediate response to the needs of a project by phone or onsite. To ensure fast, accurate communication, our phones are always answered. No voice mail or answering services to delay your requests.

In our fully equipped shop, we continually maintain and repair equipment to make sure it's always in top operating condition. The Shop Superintendent and Equipment Manager works full-time to accomplish this goal. Covering the TerritoryWhile most of our work is completed within 600 miles of Des Moines, Miller rigs and crews have worked extensively in 28 states. We cover a lot of territory — no project is ever too far away.
In most cases, we can be packed up and on the way to your site surprisingly fast — whether it's 20 miles or 1,000 miles away.
